Zedd reveals custom studio built to prioritize daylight and ergonomic flow
The shift from darkness to natural light
For 15 years, Zedd worked in traditional, windowless music environments. His new custom-built studio breaks this industry mold by placing natural lighting at the center of the design. This isn't just about aesthetics; it's a fundamental change in how a creative professional interacts with their environment. The presence of natural light transforms a sterile workspace into a living environment that supports the circadian rhythm and mental clarity of the artist during long production sessions.

Custom ergonomics and the invisible workspace
True luxury in interior design often lies in the details that disappear. Hadrian de Souza designed the studio furniture specifically to match Zedd's body measurements, including his knee height, ensuring perfect ergonomic alignment during play. This hyper-personalization extends to the technical infrastructure. Working with engineer Skinny, the team engineered a sophisticated cable management system that hides every wire. This creates a visually clean, "simplistic" environment that removes cognitive clutter and allows for total focus on the music.
Collaborative vision in the life room lounge
The studio architecture, led by Jae Omar, and interior styling by John Creywick, emphasizes a "cohesive, simple, and calming" atmosphere. Unlike traditional design where a decorator might impose a signature style, Creywick collaborated closely with Zedd to ensure the space felt like an extension of the artist's own vision. The "life room lounge" serves as the creative heart, where instruments like the piano and drums remain permanently hooked up. This setup eliminates the friction between inspiration and execution, allowing for immediate recording the moment a melody strikes.
