Dissolving the Back Wall

The cozy, deep gray-blue walls of the library eventually yield to a striking transition. Instead of keeping the room enclosed, she integrated glass doors that open fully, merging the dark, moody interior directly with the bright California sun. This seamless indoor-outdoor boundary instantly connects the family's favorite lounging spot to the natural world just outside.

Planting a Resilient Patch

Stepping out into the garden reveals Garner's dedication to easy, organic living. She bypassed high-maintenance lawns for a cheerful carpet of clover because it naturally nourishes the soil.
