Pat Grady is an American investor and venture capitalist, currently a Partner and Co-Steward at Sequoia Capital. He joined Sequoia in 2007 and focuses on investments in technology companies, particularly those in the growth stage. In November 2025, Grady, along with Alfred Lin, took over as co-steward, replacing Roelof Botha.
Grady is known for leading Sequoia's growth-stage strategy and has supported companies like ServiceNow, Zoom, Hugging Face, and Harvey. He co-led Sequoia's investment in OpenAI in 2021. Grady also led investments for legal AI platform Harvey and serves on the company's board. In February 2025, he led a $75 million Series A funding round for medical search platform Open Evidence. Grady also serves on the Board of Directors for Grow Therapy, Watershed, Harvey, Pilot.com, Cribl, and Attentive. More recently, in January 2026, Grady invested in Blockit.
Grady graduated summa cum laude from Boston College with a bachelor's degree in economics and finance with a concentration in mathematics. He also holds a certificate in advanced econometrics and game theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
