Matthew Stuart Dominick, born on December 7, 1981, is an American NASA astronaut and test pilot. Before joining NASA, Dominick was a pilot in the United States Navy. He has accumulated over 1,600 hours of flight time in 28 different aircraft, completed 400 carrier-arrested landings, flown 61 combat missions, and executed almost 200 flight test carrier landings.
Dominick was selected as a NASA astronaut in 2017. Most recently, he commanded NASA's SpaceX Crew-8 mission to the International Space Station, which launched on March 3, 2024, and splashed down off the coast of Pensacola, Florida on November 1, 2024. Before his assignment to NASA, he served as a department head with Strike Fighter Squadron 115 while stationed in Atsugi, Japan. He was also the 2015 Naval Test Wing Atlantic Test Pilot of the Year. Dominick is a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, the Society of Flight Test Engineers, and the Tailhook Association.
