Unilever is a British multinational consumer goods company headquartered in London, England. Founded in 1929 through the merger of British soap maker Lever Brothers and Dutch margarine producer Margarine Unie, the company has grown to become a global giant with approximately 400 brands sold in over 190 countries. Their products range from food and beverages to cleaning and personal care items. Some of their most well-known brands include Dove, Knorr, Axe (Lynx), Hellmann's, and Lipton. Unilever is organized into four main business groups: Beauty & Wellbeing, Personal Care, Home Care, and Nutrition. The company has a strong focus on sustainability and launched its Sustainable Living Plan in 2010. In December 2024, Unilever announced the sale of its food brand Unox and Zwan to Zwanenberg Food Group, with the deal expected to be completed in 2026. In June 2025, they announced the acquisition of Dr. Squatch, an American personal care brand, for $1.5 billion. In February 2025, Unilever announced that its ice cream unit, later known as The Magnum Ice Cream Company, would list on the Amsterdam stock market, with the demerger expected to be completed in November 2025. In 2025, beauty and well-being and personal care were the main drivers of volume growth. The Dove brand was one of the key drivers, delivering 9% organic sales and 7% volume growth.
