The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is an annual information technology conference hosted by Apple Inc.. It is held at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. Since 2020, WWDC has also incorporated a virtual component. The conference serves as a platform for Apple to showcase new software and technologies across its macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS families. Occasionally, new hardware products are unveiled at the event.
WWDC also provides a space for third-party software developers to connect with Apple engineers and attend in-depth sessions. These sessions cover a wide array of topics, helping developers integrate new operating system features into their applications. The conference began in 1983, but it wasn't until 2002 that Apple started using the conference as a major launchpad for new products. Recent WWDC events have included both online and in-person components. WWDC 2020 and 2021 were held online only due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The most recent WWDC, WWDC 2025, took place from June 9 to June 13, 2025. The conference highlighted iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26.
