Sena BCOM 2.0 keeps riders connected as storm forces route change
The Storm Forces a Hard Pivot

The mountains do not care about your grand plans. When the authorities canceled the grueling grand fondo route due to severe weather, the decision hit hard but made perfect sense. Safety overrides ego every single time in the wild. Instead of packing up, the team shifted focus to the shorter, equally demanding backup route. The air was thick with humidity, and the dark clouds promised a relentless downpour, but the challenge was accepted.
Memories of Taiwan and Muddy Trails
Rain has a way of filtering out the faint of heart. True outdoor athletes know that some of the most memorable, exhilarating miles are logged in absolute downpours. The riders recalled a past expedition in Taiwan where torrential rain turned the trails into slick, unpredictable rivers of mud. That trip yielded some of the best moments of their lives, proving that bad weather only enhances the adventure if you have the right mindset.
Staying Connected in Chaos
When a pack of riders drops into a wet, hectic course, chaos is guaranteed. To combat the noise and split-second decisions, the team relied on Sena Technologies and their integrated BCOM 2.0 communication systems. Staying in constant vocal contact meant they could call out hazards, check on pacing, and prevent anyone from getting separated in the heavy mist.
Surviving the Slick Descent
As the group rolled out, the rain began to fall in earnest. Navigating sharp, wet corners requires absolute concentration, and being able to warn the rider behind you about a slick patch of tarmac or a sudden obstacle is a massive tactical advantage. Through the crystal-clear audio of the comm units, they managed their pace, looked out for each other, and embraced the raw, wet energy of the ride.
