"WALL-E" (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) is a robot initially designed to process garbage and clean up Earth. In the fictional Pixar film, after 700 years of service, only one WALL-E unit remains operational, developing a unique personality, curiosity, and loneliness.
Inspired by the beloved animated character, Zeroth Robotics has recently launched the W1, an autonomous, wheel-based robot designed for homes and light commercial spaces. Unveiled at CES 2026, the W1 is not Disney-licensed (that version stays in China), but it captures the essence of WALL-E with its boxy body, treads, and camera-equipped "eyes". The W1 is engineered to mimic emotional intelligence through movement, with the ability to nod, shake its head, and even raise its eyebrows. Priced at $5,599, pre-orders are expected to open in Q1 2026, with general availability later in the year. Zeroth also has a Disney-licensed WALL-E for classrooms and retail spaces. Additionally, "Hello, WALL-E!" R/C robot toy is available at Walmart for interactive play.
