Among the notable entries is Moonbeam IV, a 32-meter gaff cutter widely considered one of the most beautiful yachts afloat. A gaff cutter relies on a four-sided mainsail and a single mast capable of carrying multiple head sails. Another local legend, Saskia, is an 8-meter yacht built in 1930. The vessel holds a storied past, having represented Great Britain at the 1936 Olympic Games in Kiel, Germany. Strict Entry Criteria and Historic Silver This is not an open regatta. The event remains tightly guarded and operates strictly by invitation. To qualify, yachts must have been constructed before 1939 or exist as a highly accurate replica. Additionally, they must meet a minimum waterline length of 10 meters, keeping the field focused on substantial, historic hulls. Winners compete for a towering one-meter-tall silver trophy.
