On paper, a high-downforce build is consistently faster over a single lap on almost every circuit because of its superior cornering speed. But in a live race, track position is everything. It is incredibly difficult to pass an opponent on corner entry or mid-turn. If an opponent drives a high-horsepower, low-drag build, they will pull away on every straight. Even if a high-downforce driver caught up in the braking zones, they would remain trapped behind the wider, slower-cornering car, unable to use their aerodynamic advantage. For multiplayer lobbies, prioritizing straight-line speed is often the more pragmatic, defensive tactical choice. Finding Balance in the Tuning Garage Ultimately, aerodynamics in Forza Horizon 6 are not a magic fix for poor car building. Installing a massive rear wing on an unstable chassis will not make it competitive. The baseline suspension, weight reduction, and tire choices must already work in harmony. Individual driving preferences dictate whether a driver should choose the planted, consistent feel of high downforce or the aggressive, passing-friendly power of a low-drag build.
