Gemini 2.5 Pro is a multimodal large language model (LLM) developed by Google DeepMind. It was introduced in March 2025 as Google's most advanced AI model at the time, designed as a "thinking model" with enhanced reasoning capabilities. It can process and analyze text, images, audio, and video. Gemini 2.5 Pro builds upon previous Gemini models with improved integration between different types of inputs, native audio output, and improved security. Gemini 2.5 Pro became generally available on June 17, 2025. It is accessible through Google AI Studio, the Gemini app for Gemini Advanced subscribers, and Vertex AI. As of February 2026, pricing starts at $1.25 per million input tokens and $10.00 per million output tokens. A free experimental version is also available with certain limitations. While Gemini 2.5 Pro was Google's most advanced model upon release, it's important to note that newer models like Gemini 3 Pro and Gemini 3 Flash have since been released. Gemini 2.5 Pro is scheduled for discontinuation on June 17, 2026.
