The 9Barista Mk2 is a compact, stovetop espresso machine engineered to produce café-quality espresso without electricity. Designed and manufactured by 9Barista, a Cambridge-based company, it utilizes a patented twin-boiler system to regulate pressure and temperature, delivering a true 9-bar extraction. The machine is constructed from fully machined EcoBrass and stainless steel castings, ensuring durability and a long lifespan. It is compatible with various heat sources, including gas, electric, and induction cooktops (with an adapter).
The 9Barista Mk2 comes in two models: Standard and Pro. Both models share features like EcoBrass castings, a stainless steel heat exchanger, a ceramic thermal break, and an aluminum chimney. The Pro version adds a naked portafilter, an IMS precision basket, a stainless steel basket cap, and aluminum handles for enhanced precision and extraction. The Standard model includes a standard portafilter, basket and a silicone basket cap with wooden handles. The Mk2 is designed for ease of use, with a brew cycle of 3-6 minutes and minimal adjustments needed. It produces a double shot of espresso (40-45g) using 17-20g of ground coffee and 110-120ml of water.
The 9Barista Mk2 is currently available for purchase, although some variants may be on backorder. The Standard model is priced around $599, while the Pro version costs approximately $699. These prices reflect the machine's premium materials, engineering, and the inclusion of upgraded components in the Pro model. The 9Barista company also sells spare parts.
