Warren Pies is the Co-Founder and Strategist of 3Fourteen Research, an investment research firm that utilizes macro insights and data science. Prior to this, he was the Chief Energy Strategist at Ned Davis Research (NDR) from 2011 to 2020, where he developed commodity-related studies and indicators. He was responsible for NDR's energy recommendations, combining fundamental, technical, and macro indicators to identify investment themes. Pies is also a frequent contributor to media outlets, including participating in Barron's MLP Roundtable discussion in 2013, The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, and RealVision.

Before joining NDR, Pies was an attorney specializing in regulatory approvals for industrial projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida and is an Energy Risk Professional (ERP) certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals. In late 2024, his actively managed ETF, FCTE, had a successful launch, raising over $450 million in less than six months. As of early 2026, Pies has maintained an overweight position in equities, expecting a "Goldilocks" environment in the first half of the year, characterized by higher growth and continued disinflation.
