Wade Steven Wilson, born on May 20, 1994, is an American convicted of the 2019 murders of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz in Cape Coral, Florida. Due to sharing a name with the Marvel Comics character Deadpool, Wilson has been referred to as the "Deadpool Killer" in the media. Prior to the murders, Wilson had a history of criminal activity dating back to 2012, including convictions for burglary, grand theft, and firearms offenses. In addition to the murders, on the same morning of the murders he also violently attacked his ex-girlfriend.
Wilson was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to death in June 2024. While in prison awaiting trial for the murders, he tattooed a swastika on his head and face. In 2023, he pleaded no contest to smuggling drugs into prison and was sentenced to an additional 12 years, to be served concurrently with his death sentence. In July 2025, Wilson was transferred to Suwannee Correctional Institution. A documentary series exploring Wilson's story, titled "Handsome Devil: Charming Killer," was released in January 2026.
