Sarah Ann McLachlan, born on January 28, 1968, is a Canadian singer-songwriter celebrated for her emotive vocals and introspective lyrics. With over 40 million albums sold worldwide, she is one of Canada's biggest pop exports. McLachlan's music blends pop, alt-pop, folk-pop, and pop-rock genres, showcasing her talents as a vocalist, pianist, guitarist, ukulele, and harp player. She gained significant recognition in the 1990s and is equally known for her charitable work and for co-founding the Lilith Fair tour, which showcased female musicians.
McLachlan's notable achievements include three Grammy Awards and twelve Juno Awards. She was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2017 and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2024.
