Sir Richard Starkey (born in Liverpool, England, on July 7, 1940), most famously known as Ringo Starr, is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and actor. He gained international recognition as the drummer for the Beatles. Starr occasionally sang lead vocals for the band, including "Yellow Submarine" and "With a Little Help from My Friends". He also penned the Beatles' songs "Don't Pass Me By" and "Octopus's Garden". Beyond the Beatles, Starr has had a successful solo career, releasing 21 albums. He has toured with thirteen variations of Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band since 1989.
Starr's influence extends beyond his drumming, impacting modern drumming techniques such as the matched grip and drum tuning. He was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, once as a Beatle (1988) and again as a solo artist (2015). In January 2025, he released a country-flavored album titled Look Up, produced by T Bone Burnett. He is currently working on another album with Burnett. Starr is touring with his All Starr Band with tour dates set in May and June 2026. In late May of 2026, Starr will showcase his original paintings for the first time at the Animazing Gallery in Las Vegas.
