Pete Cumming is a British sailor with extensive experience in various sailing events, including the Extreme Sailing Series and the America's Cup World Series. Born on May 2, 1979, in Luton, United Kingdom, he is known for his versatility and teamwork. Cumming has also worked as a TV commentator, covering the 35th America's Cup for BT Sports and Sky Sports, and providing live commentary for the Extreme Sailing Series in 2015. He has crossed the Atlantic Ocean eight times.
More recently, Cumming was the crew boss for Sun Hung Kai Scallywag. In January 2026, he was part of the crew on Argo, a MOD70 trimaran, that broke the RORC Transatlantic Race record. Argo completed the 3,000-nautical-mile crossing from Lanzarote to Antigua in 4 days, 23 hours, 51 minutes, and 15 seconds. Cumming's role on Scallywag also involved preparing the Scallywag 100 for events such as the Rolex Maxi Worlds Championships, where he discussed the boat's new bow sprit and modifications.
