Frederick John Philip Gibson (born July 19, 1993), most famously known as Fred again.. or simply Fred, is an English record producer, DJ, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Gibson began his journey in music at a young age, eventually joining an a cappella group at Brian Eno's London studio. Impressed by Gibson's talent, Eno mentored him in music production and composition. Before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Fred again.. made a name for himself as a producer and songwriter, working with prominent artists across various genres, including Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora, and Shawn Mendes. In 2020, he won the Brit Award for Producer of the Year.
Fred again.. gained widespread recognition for his "Actual Life" series (2021-2022), blending house and UK garage with personal samples. His unique style incorporates voice memos, social media clips, and other artists' music into original tracks, creating a "collaborative diary" reflecting his life experiences. In 2022, his Boiler Room set became a viral sensation, catapulting him to international fame. At the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in 2024, he won Best Dance/Electronic Album for "Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022)" and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for "Rumble" (with Skrillex and Flowdan). In December 2025, he concluded his 10/10/10 tour, which accompanied the release of his album "USB002," with a sold-out show in San Francisco.
