Andrew Huberman, Ph.D., born September 26, 1975, is an American neuroscientist and podcaster. He is a tenured associate professor in the Departments of Neurobiology and Ophthalmology at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he also directs the Huberman Lab. His research focuses on brain development, neural plasticity, vision, and the neural mechanisms underlying stress, sleep, and performance. Huberman earned a B.A. in psychology from UC Santa Barbara, an M.A. in psychology from UC Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UC Davis.
Huberman is best known for hosting the Huberman Lab podcast, which launched in 2021 and has become a leading health and science podcast. The podcast explores various topics related to neuroscience, health, and science-based tools for everyday life. His research has led to over 75 peer-reviewed articles in top scientific journals. He has received numerous awards, including the Cogan Award for contributions to vision science and ophthalmology. Huberman's lab has recently focused on the influence of vision and respiration on human performance and brain states, as well as neural regeneration. He is also the author of the upcoming book "Protocols: An Operating Manual for the Human Body".
