Downtown Josh Brown, born Joshua Morgan Brown on February 25, 1977, is an American financial advisor, author, blogger, and media personality. He is widely recognized as the CEO of Ritholtz Wealth Management, a New York City-based independent investment advisory firm that he co-founded with Barry Ritholtz. Brown is also a contributing columnist for Yahoo! Finance, Business Insider, and Upside.
Brown gained prominence through his blog, The Reformed Broker, where he shares his insights on markets, politics, economics, media, culture, and finance. In 2013, The Wall Street Journal ranked him as the No. 1 financial Twitter follow. He is a frequent commentator on CNBC, offering his perspectives on market trends and financial news. Brown co-hosts the weekly podcast "The Compound & Friends" with Michael Batnick. He has authored books including "Backstage Wall Street" (2012) and "Clash of the Financial Pundits" (2014), co-authored with Jeff Macke. In late 2024, Brown released a book titled "You Weren't Supposed to See That: Secrets Every Investor Should Know". Ritholtz Wealth Management was ranked #100 in Barron's Top RIA Firms in September 2025.
