Diane Ruiz was a 43-year-old Cape Coral, Florida resident who was murdered in October 2019 by Wade Wilson. She was a mother to two sons, Brandon Cuellar and Zane Romero. At the time of her death, Ruiz worked at the Cape Coral Moose Lodge and was engaged to her fiancé, Scott. She was known by her coworkers as a dedicated and caring person, someone who "always had everybody's back" and whose "infectious smile" and "really loud laugh" were memorable.
Ruiz's murder occurred while she was walking to work. Wilson, who had murdered Kristine Melton earlier that day, approached Ruiz in a stolen car and asked for directions.
