David Deida (born David Greenberg on March 18, 1958) is an American author, independent researcher, and teacher known for his work exploring the intersections of spirituality, sexuality, and the dynamics between masculine and feminine energies. He legally changed his name to his childhood nickname, Deida. Deida's teachings, often considered insightful and provocative, aim to revolutionize the way men and women grow spiritually and sexually.
Deida's work includes eleven books translated into over 35 languages, with The Way of the Superior Man being his most well-known. Other notable works include Finding God Through Sex and Dear Lover. He has also published numerous essays, articles, audio and video recordings on spirituality. Deida has taught and conducted research at various universities, including the University of California, Santa Cruz, San Jose State University, and École Polytechnique in Paris. He is a founding member of the Integral Institute and has been recognized on Watkins' Spiritual 100 List for over fifteen years. Since 2009, Deida has primarily lived in retreat, continuing to influence discussions on sociocultural evolution.
