Giles Lyndon Scott, born on June 23, 1987, is a British competitive sailor celebrated for his achievements in the Finn class and SailGP. He is a four-time Finn Gold Cup winner and a two-time Olympic gold medalist, securing gold for Team GB at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Scott's early sailing career was marked by victories in the RYA Youth Championships and the ISAF World Youth Championships in 2005.
Scott transitioned to SailGP, initially taking over as the driver for the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team in January 2024. During his time with Emirates GBR, he achieved his first SailGP event win at the Rockwool Canada Sail Grand Prix in Halifax in June 2024. In September 2024, Scott was announced as the driver for Canada's NorthStar SailGP Team, stepping in for Phil Robertson. This move coincided with the acquisition of the Canada SailGP Team by biotech entrepreneur Dr. Greg Bailey. Scott's career also includes participation in the America's Cup, including being Head of Sailing for INEOS Britannia.
