Carl Pei, born in Beijing on September 11, 1989, is a Swedish entrepreneur known for co-founding OnePlus with Pete Lau in 2013 and for founding Nothing in 2020. Pei grew up in Sweden and dropped out of the Stockholm School of Economics to work in the Chinese smartphone industry. He previously worked at Nokia, Meizu, and Oppo.
After leaving OnePlus in October 2020, Pei founded Nothing, a London-based consumer technology company. Nothing aims to create innovative technology that seamlessly integrates into users' lives. The company's first product was the Nothing Ear (1) wireless earphones, followed by the Nothing Phone (1). Nothing recently opened its first retail store in India, located in Bengaluru, and is planning stores in New York and Tokyo. The company is valued at over $1.3 billion. Nothing will launch the Phone 4a series on March 5.
