Cameron Hanes, born on October 2, 1967, is an American bowhunter, endurance athlete, author, and outdoorsman. Hanes is known for his relentless pursuit of backcountry bowhunting in the remote wildernesses of the American West and Alaska. He lives in Oregon and works for the Springfield Utility Board. To prepare for bow season, Hanes trains year-round, lifting weights seven days a week, shooting his bow daily, and running ultramarathons, often covering distances of 100 miles through rugged mountain terrain.
Hanes has written several books, including "Backcountry Bowhunting: A Guide to the Wild Side," "Endure: How to Work Hard, Outlast, and Keep Hammering," and "Undeniable: How to Reach the Top and Stay There". He has also self-published two books, released hunting and training DVDs, and launched a line of hunting and fitness apparel. Hanes organizes virtual races and hosts the Lift Run Shoot Experience in Eugene, Oregon.
