Brady John Haran, born on June 18, 1976, is an Australian-British independent filmmaker and video journalist known for creating educational videos and documentary films for his YouTube channels. He is most recognized for his YouTube channels such as Numberphile, Periodic Videos, and Sixty Symbols. Haran also co-hosted the Hello Internet podcast with CGP Grey from 2014 to 2020, which gained a large following and was known for its diverse topics and in-depth discussions.
Currently, Haran continues to produce content for his established YouTube channels and podcasts. He also hosts The Unmade Podcast with Tim Hein and The Numberphile Podcast. Haran's work has earned him several accolades, including the Christopher Zeeman Medal in 2024 for his excellence in communicating mathematics. He also received the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) and an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from the University of Nottingham. In addition to these honors, an asteroid has been named after him.
