Andre Agassi, born on April 29, 1970, is a retired American professional tennis player. Agassi is widely considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He achieved the world No. 1 ranking and held it for 101 weeks, finishing as the year-end No. 1 in 1999. Known for his dynamic playing style and engaging personality, Agassi turned professional in 1986 at the age of 16.
Agassi won 60 ATP Tour-level singles titles, including eight Grand Slam singles titles, making him one of only five male players to have won all four Grand Slam events. He is the first man to win all four singles majors across three different surfaces. Agassi also won an Olympic gold medal and was part of three winning United States Davis Cup teams. Since retiring from professional tennis in 2006, Agassi has focused on philanthropic endeavors, notably the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education, which supports at-risk children and educational initiatives in Las Vegas. He is married to fellow tennis champion Steffi Graf, and they have two children.
