Sleep Token is an anonymous English rock band that formed in London in 2016. The band is fronted by a singer known as Vessel, and the other members are known by numbers. They maintain anonymity through the use of masks and cloaks. Sleep Token is difficult to categorize by genre, drawing from alternative metal, post-rock/metal, progressive metal, indie rock, and ambient elements. The band members dedicate their performances and music to the ancient deity "Sleep," from whom they derive their name.
The band released their debut EP, One, in 2016. In 2019, Sleep Token signed with Spinefarm Records and released their debut album, Sundowning. They gained mainstream attention with their third album, Take Me Back to Eden, in May 2023, which reached number 3 on the UK album charts. In May 2023, they won Best UK Artist at the Heavy Music Awards. Sleep Token released their fourth album, Even in Arcadia, in May 2025 via RCA Records, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
