Generation Z, also known as Zoomers, are those born roughly between 1997 and 2012, following the Millennials and preceding Generation Alpha. As digital natives, they are the first generation to grow up with the internet and digital technology as an established part of everyday life. Gen Z exhibits defining traits such as pragmatism, anxiety, and a strong interest in saving and investing. They are also keen to travel, prioritize nutrition (though not necessarily fad diets), and hold nuanced views on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Gen Z values work-life balance and seeks employment that aligns with their personal values, with many open to freelance or gig opportunities. They are known as active participants in the digital world, using platforms to learn about important causes, share knowledge, and mobilize for change, with top social issues including human rights, and environmental concerns. While they are often considered digital natives, they may not necessarily be digitally literate across all platforms and might face challenges in digital workplaces. They are pragmatic, ambitious, and value creativity and curiosity.
