Rockwool Denmark, also known as the ROCKWOOL Group, is a multinational Danish manufacturer of mineral wool products. Headquartered in Hedehusene, Greater Copenhagen, Denmark, the company was founded in 1909 as Korsør Stenforretning by Henrik Johan Henriksen and Valdemar Kähler, initially as a gravel mining operation. By 1937, the company shifted its focus to producing stone wool insulation. Rockwool specializes in solutions for thermal insulation, fire protection, and acoustics. Their products are sold under brands like ROCKWOOL, Rockfon, Rockpanel, Lapinus, and Grodan.
Jes Munk Hansen is the President and CEO of Rockwool as of February 2026. In 2025, Rockwool reported sales of €3.88 billion, a 1% increase from 2024. However, their EBITDA decreased by 8%. Recently, Rockwool has faced challenges including the Russian government's seizure of its four factories in Russia in January 2026, which led to a write-down of assets valued at 469 million euros. Despite this, Rockwool is pursuing legal action to retain ownership. The company is also undertaking capacity expansions in India, Romania, and the US, and is converting several plants to electric melting. Rockwool is listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.
