Encore at Wynn Las Vegas is a luxury resort and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip. It is owned by Wynn Resorts. Encore is an expansion of Wynn Las Vegas, sharing the same site of the former Desert Inn resort. Construction on Encore began on April 28, 2006, and it opened to the public on December 22, 2008. The 48-story hotel tower has 2,034 rooms, in addition to a 72,000 square-foot casino and the Encore Esplanade retail area. Wynn Resorts' CEO is Craig Billings. Brian Gullbrants is the Chief Operating Officer for Wynn Resorts North America.
Encore is known for its luxury amenities, including upscale retail shops, fine dining restaurants, nightclubs, spas, and convention space. Like Wynn Las Vegas, Encore incorporates natural lighting in certain areas, which is unusual for casinos. Recent news indicates that Wynn Resorts experienced a downturn in casino play and hotel room revenue in Las Vegas. Specifically, some Encore rooms will be taken offline for maintenance in 2026. In the fourth quarter of 2025, the occupancy rate at Wynn Las Vegas properties was 85.2%, a decrease of 2.9 percentage points from the previous year, although room rates increased to $611 a night. The Encore tower is scheduled for remodeling starting in the second quarter of 2026, which is expected to reduce available room nights by approximately 80,000.
