CNBC, or the Consumer News and Business Channel, is an American business news channel that provides real-time coverage of financial markets and business information. Launched on April 17, 1989, it replaced the Satellite Program Network. CNBC's headquarters and main studios are located in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and it also maintains a studio at the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square, New York City. CNBC operates CNBC.com, a financial news website offering articles, videos, podcasts, and subscription services.
CNBC is owned by Versant, after being spun off from NBCUniversal in November 2024. Mark Hoffman is the Chairman of CNBC. The network broadcasts live business news and analysis during morning, daytime, and early-evening hours. Other programming includes business-related documentaries and reality television shows, as well as occasional sports presentations. CNBC has international branches, including CNBC Europe and CNBC Asia, and is involved in other international affiliates.
